POSITION: Academic Tutor
LOCATION: Lancaster, CA (various schools in the Lancaster School District.
STARTING PAY RATE: $25.00-30.00/hr (depending on experience)
SCHEDULE: 3-5 hours per week. Afternoon shifts are between 12:00-4:30pm.DESCRIPTION :
Academic tutors use materials provided by RISE and the school district to provide Math and English Language Arts tutoring for groups of up to 10 elementary school students in grades 3-6. Tutors work after-school at the school site in a classroom setting.
REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of age and high school graduate or equivalent,
Must pass academic exam, Livescan background screening, and provide negative TB certificate.
Document and report student progress in target areas
Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program
Attend professional development trainings and workshops
Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Stand at least two hours per day
Stoop, bend, climb, and walk frequently
Lift up to 40 pounds
IDEAL CANDIDATES: We are looking for adaptable, energetic, and motivated adults with excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a college graduate or current college student with experience tutoring elementary, middle, or high school students. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with both children and adults.

POSITION: Program Instructor and On-Call Substitute Program Instructor
LOCATION: Santa Clarita Area (Castaic, Canyon Country, and Newhall)
STARTING PAY RATE: $18.50/hr ($18,75 after successfuly passing the probation period).
SCHEDULE: Part time. Morning and afternoon shifts available. Approximately 3-6 hours per day. Schedule and shifts will vary depending on school site and season (school year or summer)DESCRIPTION :
Program Instructors provide supervision, tutoring, homework help, and lead enrichment lessons for elementary school students. Candidates must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized sports activities and enrichment projects such as art, music, games, and drama.
REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of age and high school graduate or equivalent,
Must pass academic exam, Livescan background screening, and provide negative TB certificate
Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program
Attend meetings and events in the evenings and weekends as necessary
Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events
Assist with the recruitment and retention of students
Attend staff development trainings and workshops
