The RISE After School programs are open to Sulphur Springs Union School District students who qualify and have been invited by the school district. If your child qualifies you will receive an invitation from the school district through Parent Square and/or email.
If you do not receive an invitation, please contact the SSUSD director who oversees the Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs, Vivian Fiss, at (661) 252-5131, to find out if your child qualifes for enrollment. RISE cannot determine eligibility or invite students to register.

About RISE:
RISE is an experienced provider of school programs, with existing programs at 26 additional sites in the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys. Our staff are caring members of the community who have completed a health screening, academic proficiency test, and background check. Our student to staff ratio is 20:1 (10:1 for Kinder and TK)

The 2024-2025 after school program is an afternoon enrichment program that includes homework support, enrichment, fitness, and a daily snack.
WHEN: Every regularly scheduled school day from school dismissal until 6:00pm.
WHERE: RISE after school programs are located at Canyon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch, Golden Oak, Leona Cox, Mint Canyon, Mitchell, Sulphur Springs and Valley View.
WHO: This program is limited to SSUSD students in grades TK-6 who have been invited by the school district.

2:15-2:40 Attendance and snack
2:45-3:45 Homework assistance
3:50-4:15 Fitness
4:20-5:10 Enrichment
5:15-5:40 Social Emotional Learning
5:45-6:00 Clean up and dismissal

Q: Is my student guaranteed a spot?
A: No, the registration process is first come-first served. The program is reserved for students who meet certain eligibility criteria.
Q: When will I know if my student will be in the program?
A: We expect to notify parents within 7 days of registration unless a date is specified in the registration confirmation email.
Q: Are my students expected to attend every day and stay for the full program every day?
A: While daily attendance is encouraged, students are not required to attend every day and stay for the full program. If a program is full and has a wait list, we will prioritize students who commit to attending every day for the full program.
Q: Are the programs free?
A: Yes, the programs are funded by state funds. Parents do not need to pay.
Q: Can my special-needs child attend?
A: Most children who qualify will be able to attend the program. There will be a 72 hour trial period for new students, to make sure the program is a good fit for the student. The state is still developing guidance on how to make the program as inclusive as possible. We will update this FAQ as more information becomes available.
RISE cannot provide a one-to-one aide for students.

A: The daily schedule will include:

¿Mi estudiante tiene garantizado un lugar en el programa?
