RISE and Daisy Gibson School partner to offer STEM clubs after school
Ryan Nelson
Daisy Gibson School is partnering with RISE to create an atmosphere of academic learning after school. We will be formulating afterschool clubs around STEM-based programs that will allow our students a greater diversity of educational structure through a lens of learning based projects and activities that focus on both Common Core and NGSS standards.
- Robotics Club – students will have the opportunity to learn about automation and robotics hands – on with the prospect of competing on a national level in the Lego-first robotics competition later this year.
- Engineering Club – students will learn the fundamentals of engineering using the engineer’s design process in order to ready themselves for this year’s multitude of STEAM Competitions such as Science Olympiad, Wind-Turbine, Solar Cook-Off, and the Daisy Gibson STEM Challenge
- Forensics Club – students will solve crimes through the understanding of chemistry, anatomy, physics, and other sciences, all while using a prescribed scientific methodology that real forensic detectives used today
